This institution registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1960 as per the Memorandum of Association and Bye-laws provided by the Government of India in the year 1993-94 and sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Elementary Education and Literacy, Government of India, New Delhi which was functioning under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Tumkur was taken over by our Society on 17 th January 2003. Smt. Sukanya.R.H, Programme Officer is the in-charge Director of this institution during the year under report. This is a grant in aid institution. .

The main objectives of this institutions are as follows.

1] To improve the occupational skills and technical knowledge of the neo-literates and the trainees and to raise their efficiency and increase productive ability.

2] To provide academic and technical resource support to Zilla Saksharata Samities in taking up vocational and skill development programmes for neo-literates in both urban and rural areas.

3] To serve as nodal continuing Education centres and to co-ordinate, supervise and monitor 10-15 continuing Education centres / nodal centres.

4] To organise training and orientation courses for key resource persons, Master trainers on designing, development and implementation of skill development programmes under the scheme of continuing education for neo-literates.
