.........The devotees and well wishers of Sree Siddaganga Math resided in Tumkur town and neighbouring districts were very ambitious to start an Engineering college in Tumkur under the blessings and Presidentship of Dr.Sree Sree Sivakumara Swamigalu, President, Sree Siddaganga Math during the year 1961-62.

The Rev. Sree Sree Shivakumaraswamiji was already running a well known Sanskrit college in Sree Siddaganga Math and few high Schools and other educational institutions in Tumkur and around.

There was no chance to study Engineering course to all the students as the chances of getting seats to Engineering course in Government Engineering colleges in the State were very rare; and hence number of students of Tumkur and surrounding areas were denied with the benefits of study of Engineering course

Therefore the devotees and well wishers of Sree Siddaganga Math requested the Rev. Sree Sree Sivakumara Swamigalu to start an Engineering college in Tumkur and help them to get their children and other students irrespective of caste and creed could make use of studying Engineering course and becoming Engineers.

In view of the heavy pressure from the devotees and philanthropic persons the Rev. Swamiji made up his mind to start an Engineering college in Tumkur City although the funds position of Sree Siddaganga Math was not sound enough to start Engineering college in Tumkur during 1962-63.

In order to provide Higher Education to the Rural students nearer to the doors of their living Sree Siddaganga Education Society was established with its Head quarters at Sree Siddaganga Math. Sree Siddagnaga Education Society was established during 1963 and registered under Karnataka Societies Registration Act by the Rev. Swamiji as its was mandatory to establish either a society or Trust to start other education institutions under its control with the members of Board of management consisting life members and patrons etc.,

Since, from the starting of Sree Siddaganga Education Society during 1963 the institution under it have been added one by one and now the total number of educational institutions running under Sree Siddaganga Education Society are 124 in total.
