The college is run by Sree Siddaganga Education Society, Sree Siddaganga Math, Tumkur. The Society is headed by His Holiness Sree Sree Shivakumara Mahaswamigalu, the ‘Abhinava Basavanna’. SSES took its birth in 1963. The society runs various kinds of educational institutions ranging from Samskruta Patashalas to Technical Colleges. They are 127 in number.
Sree Siddaganga PU College for Women came into being in 2001-02, when the original college, was bifurcated into PU and Degree Colleges, as per government order. The college is helping students to excel not only in academics but also in extra-curricular Activities. The Vision of the College is “Women’s Empowerment for a better Tomorrow”, and the signature line is “First Step towards Women’s Empowerment”.

The college is situated right in the heart of the city. Campus is just two minutes away from Private and Government Bus stands and Railway Station.
The Campus is 2 Acres with Built up area of 52,000 sq.ft. The Campus has space for Outdoor Sports. Green lawn and shaded areas in the campus add to its beauty as well as to the convenience of students. ‘Sri Uddana Shivayogigala Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Garden’ is where, around 150 herbal plants are grown. The garden is promoting indigenous Ayurvedic knowledge of students. The college contains a parking place with roof, for the vehicles of students, staff. Indoor Sports Room, Canteen, Telephone Coin Box, Photocopying facilities are available within the campus.
As the college offers courses in Science stream, it has well equipped and modernized Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics and Computer Labs with good lighting and ventilation. Care is taken to see that each student performs experiments on her own with necessary apparatus.
The College is having one of the best libraries in the State. With its Open access system, Music Therapy and Internet facility, the library is serving its purpose, with excellence. The library is subscribing 30 periodicals/journals, 12 newspapers and has approximately 12,000 books for the use of students.
The College offers combinations in Arts, Science and Commerce disciples.

Freeships, Scholarships :
Totally, there are 18 categories of Scholarships that are awarded to students ;
like, GOI Scholarship, Jindal Scholarship, Medical Relief Society Scholarship, B.C.M. Post Metric Scholarship, Merit Scholarship, SC/ST Scholarship, Tuition Fee waive off Freeship etc.
Around 250 Scholarships are awarded every year.
CET & COMED-K Coaching Classes :
Coaching Programme is offered to the aspirants of CET and COMED-K competition exams. Students of the college and outsiders are allowed to take part in the Coaching Programme. Subject Experts from different districts take part to coach ; they also provide a question bank, in each subject. The programme is entering its 20th year.
Spoken English Classes :
Specially designed coaching programme by Professionals to improve communicative skills in English of students.
Basic Computer Course :
The College offers basic computer courses for the interested students with a very nominal fee. Computer Department staff is very well versed in handling the classes during the free hours.

Abhimukhi - An exhibition on Science and Humanities :
A two day exhibition is held by the college. Students from Arts, Science and Commerce stream are allowed to participate in the Exhibition. Around 250 models of Science and Humanities are exhibited.
A stage for renovation of local Cultural heritag. Kamsale, Devara Pata Kunita and other local folk dances are performed. A State level Award has also been awarded to the College.
Beyond Boundaries :
A wing with new horizons, encourages students to think and act out of the box. A district level quiz competition is arranged for Highschool students. Winners are awarded with Cash prizes and a rolling shield.
Inhouse Magazines :
An editorial committee brings out an annual College Magazine ‘Jeevagange’, a river of student’s creativity ; as all students can not be accommodated in this, ‘Anavarana’ a monthly Bulletin is also brought out.

It is obvious, that one is in great dilemma when one stands at a Turning point. Everyone wants her career to be bright. ‘Which college to join ?’ is the most important question which faces her.
