Dr.Sree Sree Shivakumara Maha Swamigalu, established Sree Siddaganga Education Society during the year 1963.  His Holiness has visualized with his unique sense of initiative perception that a society morally righteous, ethically upright and socially enlightened, a society in which a sense of the dignity of labour and unity of mankind is all pervasive, in substance a society based on the noble teaching Lord of Basaveswara.  His Holiness has chosen the path of providing quality education to the student masses, both rural and urban to create the society of his vision.  Education of the high degree of excellence needs teachers of innate worth and nobility of Character.

Sree Basaveshwara D.Ed., College is a premier Institute of Education in the State of Karnataka, started in the year 1961 by Dr. Sree Sree Shivakumara Maha Swamigalu, a saint President, Sree Siddaganga Math, who is a visionary in the field of Education.  It was the fervent desire of the Revered Swamiji to start a good D.Ed., college to prepare quality teachers to function at the Primary Level.
The College has achieved marvels in the last 5 1/2 decades of its existence and now it has emerged as a full fledged institution, occupying an honored place among the colleges of education in the State of Karnataka.
